The Alliance of Pro-Life Students is Bringing Life to Our Universities.
APS is run by students and recent graduates for students. Our unique mission is to build university pro-life communities in England, Scotland and Wales that have a lasting and profound respect for human life from fertilisation to natural death. We do this by building, supporting and connecting student pro-life societies.
“The Alliance of Pro-Life Students recognises the inherent and irreplaceable value of every human life from fertilisation (conception) until natural death. It is opposed to any practice which, directly or indirectly, threatens to undermine this respect, and holds as especially grave those practices that intentionally aim at the destruction of human life. This includes, but is not limited to, abortion, euthanasia and assisted suicide, and the intentional destruction of human embryos during experimentation and In vitro fertilisation.”
What do we do?
We help build a culture of life at universities by helping university students with the following activities.
Help students with starting groups
Starting a pro-life student society is an opportunity to make positive, respectful change on your campus and in wider society – we can help you get your group off the ground.
Support students to grow their groups.
Once your society is up and running, APS can help you expand your society and ensure it continues to provide a voice in years to come.
Run student focussed training events
We hold great training events, equipping you to bring the pro-life message to your university.
We hold exciting membership events, bringing together pro-life students from up and down the country. We also help to link students to the wider pro-life movement.
Our website and social media channels support the work student groups are doing on campus, keeping students connected and keeping people up-to-date with the latest student pro-life developments.
Speaking on your campus
An APS team member can visit your university to deliver a free talk or workshop, tailored to your particular needs.
Why are we here?
In 2013, for the age range 18-24, 71,370 abortions were performed. This accounts for almost 40% of all abortions in England and Wales. It is also the age range of most students. We need pro-life students in university offering help and support these students.
Our ultimate vision is a society where the value of human life is always affirmed, and free from unethical practices in science and medicine which disregard this intrinsic value.
As an organisation, we are opposed to abortion, euthanasia and the unethical treatment of human embryos. We also believe that students are crucial to the pro-life movement. Students are especially vulnerable to abortion.
Furthermore students are also the politicians, doctors, lawyers, teachers, parents of the future. University is where they form their views- so we need to offer the pro-life message to them.
There is also increasing opposition to the student pro-life voice, with the right to respectfully share their views denied and freedom of speech trampled upon. We are here to provide a voice and a rallying point for these students.
We are here to help the courageous pro-life students on campuses up and down the UK educate and inform their peers, keep the debate alive and bring life back to our universities.
