Our unique mission is to build university pro-life communities in England, Scotland and Wales that have a lasting and profound respect for human life from fertilisation to natural death. APS aims to:
a) Build, support and connect pro-life societies
b) Equip students with up-to-date pro-life education and resources
c) Provide a forum for student pro-life discussion and networking
Our ultimate vision is a society where the value of human life is always affirmed, and free from unethical practices in science and medicine which disregard this intrinsic value. As an organisation, we are opposed to abortion, euthanasia and the unethical treatment of human embryos.
We know that educating and supporting students is vital if we are to create a culture where people are passionate about defending human lives and energy is put into researching positive alternatives which are made widely available.
We are equipping the next generation of pro-lifers: the future lawyers, doctors, artists, politicians, parents and teachers.
Together, we are revitalising our communities.
Together, we are opening up discussion amongst our peers about life ethics.
Together, we are ensuring our universities provide excellent support networks for young mothers.
Together, we are building a culture of life.
A number of common values have formed the foundation of our joint initiative of student pro-life groups. These are:
We are committed to our mission to build university communities in England, Scotland and Wales that have a lasting and profound respect for human life from fertilisation to natural death by pursing our foundational and fundamental aims of building, supporting and connecting student pro-life societies. We will always strive to ensure that our work reflects the needs and desires of the groups it unites and works for.
We encourage people from all walks of life, who agree with our Fundamental Principles, to get involved in our work. We are committed to our non-party political and non-sectarian stance, and seek both the shared mission which comes from common goals and the understanding gained from debate and sharing of ideas.
We are always looking to work with people and organisations whose objectives overlap with ours. As an umbrella organisation, it is in the interest of our members to network and connect with other organisations in order to provide the best resources for them. Equally, we are proud of the contribution that we are able to make as an organisation and through our members to furthering the pro-life cause side-by-side with others.
Driven, Proactive and Positive
We have a can-do, make-things-happen approach. We have vision and set ambitious goals, working towards them diligently, methodically and creatively drawing on the varied skills of our core team and wider membership base.
We understand that people have different world views and hold a variety of perspectives on the often-emotive topics we discuss. We strive to seek an understanding of and respect for those who do not share our viewpoint as a starting point for dialogue.
